CRT for Back to School

Myopia (nearsightedness) affects a quarter of the worlds population.  It has increased by 66% in the US since 1971.  When a patient is nearsighted they have trouble seeing objects far away.  Uncorrected or undiagnosed nearsightedness can cause a host of problems for children and adults.  Some of the most common symptoms are headaches, blurry vision, difficulty driving, difficulty seeing the board in school, and squinting.  Genetics is the primary cause of myopia, but we do believe how a person uses their eyes contributes to myopia.   Fine detailed work up close, tablets, cell phones, computer work and extended periods of reading may all have an influence on myopia.

CRT Contact on Eye

At CatinoEyeCare in Porters Neck our doctors have brought Paragon CRT to Wilmington, NC.  We are passoniate about bringing in and providing the most advanced and comprehensive contact lenses to our area. Our doctors are trained and certified in CRT.

Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) is a FDA approved non surgical treatment used to correct nearsightedness in children and adults.  CRT uses a therapeutic contact lens that you put in before bed and take out in the morning.  CRT lenses gently reshape the cornea while you sleep, providing temporary corrected vision during the day.  The patient can enjoy natural vision during the day without the hassle of glasses or contacts. CRT is the perfect solution for patients who want a lens free lifestyle during the day, find soft contacts dry or irritating to wear all day, or are too young for LASIK.
