Scleral Contact Lenses for Keratoconus and Post LASIK Complications

Do you currently suffer from Keratoconus and think that your current contacts give you the best possible vision with the best comfort?  Have you had refractive surgery and now suffer from irregular astigmatism and reduced vision?   If you haven’t tried the new Europa Scleral contact lens or the Synergeyes Hybrid contact lens then give us a call at CatinoEyeCare.  We have the expertise and passion for fitting difficult cases that other practices cannot handle.  We successfully fit and manage patients with a wide range of irregular corneal conditions and surface disease.  We wanted to bring this specialized fitting experience to Wilmington, NC without our patients having to travel for this level of care.  CatinoEyeCare offers some of the most advanced and cutting edge contact lens options available to help patients achieve vision they no longer thought was possible.

Corneal Topography of Keratoconus

Our first generation scleral contact lenses provided good vision, but sometimes didn’t have the comfort for all day wear.  We now have a Scleral contact lens that anyone can wear.  The Europa Scleral contact has a larger optical zone and new peripheral curve design.  Now patients can experience the vision benefits of a Scleral contact with the comfort of a regular gas permeable lens.

With a large segment of the population now having LASIK surgery and other refractive procedures, we are seeing more cases of irregular astigmatism.  Patients that suffer with irregular astigmatism and corneal ectasia have reduced vision that ordinary contacts cannot correct.  Scleral contact lenses typically are a good option for these patients.  We also like the simplicity of the Synergeyes KC contact lens.  This is a hard lens in the center with a soft contact lens skirt.  The Synergeyes contact lens provides patients with great vision, along with all day comfort.

Irregular Astigmatism and Corneal Ectasia Post LASIK

CatinoEyeCare is currently fitting the latest and most comfortable hard contact lenses to correct Keratoconus and Corneal Ectasia from Post LASIK complications.  Please give us a call today at 910-686-8000 to schedule your appointment and let us bring back your best vision possible!
